The Four-Year V-Stitch Blanket

About four years ago, for Christmas, I made my mom and mother-in-law these nice little v-stitch throws. I also made one for my cousin's baby who came along about a year after that... the whole time I was also working on one for myself, compliments of this Lion Brand yarn pattern. Well, after working a row here, and a row there (for FOUR years!), today is the day I will finish my blanket! I found this great crab stitch tutorial that I decided to use for the edging, and now, just need to weave in my ends. So, even though it took four years to finally get it finished, I will be cozy all winter long now!

When I decided to (re)learn how to knit about two months ago, I decided I had to know how to use cable knitting, so a did a quick google search and found this picture, which I absolutely loved and thought I could make myself without a pattern. While the pattern is sold in an Etsy store, I didn't realize this until much later (last night in fact), so I just looked at the picture and winged it. I am pretty happy with what I came up with. I've done three so far, for the Alaska cruise I just got back from, and my aunt ordered five more... so five more on the way! Here is my WIP from last night :). These will also be going up in my Etsy store sooner or later.

Stacey's Neat Knits

Working on getting my Etsy store up and running... trying to create my own patterns that I can sell without violating any copyright laws. I'm pretty sure that is an important consideration! I have a few cute cowl designs coming along, I can't wait to get a few done to really "open" the store. Maybe in time for the holidays!

In the mean time I just finished some adorable Halloween costumes, so the knitting time has been fairly limited!

Owlie Sleep Sack

Owlie sleep sack... still about 1/2 of the project to go...

So I found this adorable pattern, I either pinned it or found it on Ravelry, I can't remember, but either way it is adorable. Since I don't have any little baby of my own (yet!) I'm just going to finish it and hide it away... The original pattern is from here:

There is also a matching hat, which I plan to make. I found a great grey/tan yarn to use, it's beautiful and gender neutral.

The great thing about this pattern is that it let me work on both my circular knitting skills (this is only my second circ. project) and cabling techniques.
